DOMINATING THE TRACKS
I've worked within the transport sector for quite a number of years, a lot of that time was spend on rail clients. There's something pleasing about working on products that every type of person can and will use.
Since working closely with these types of clients and with a vast knowledge of the sector and how things work. I've been able to create innovative, creative tech and data-driven concepts for a number of train operating companies.

/ PROJECT 1
RAIL INNOVATION DECKS
Trying to reimagine the digital rail experience using existing technologies in ways in which our competitors weren't.
I put together a series of innovative ideas that could be added alongside current clients digital offerings. Ranging from Visual seat selectors, smart conversation commerce, food ordering and passenger assist through re-imagined digital tickets, quick purchase, travel now, think later ticket dynamics.

/ PROJECT 2
UX AUDIT & UI REFRESH
Taking the opportunity to UX audit the Chiltern Railway App, I saw the clear need to fix the payment and booking sections along with an overall UI refresh modernising the look and feel.
Bookings
/ Surface the important information, Eticket activation/ Booking ref, Date and Calling points
/ Top-level ticket activation
/ Tabbed inbound & outbound
/ Facilitating use by making the information more readable and digestible
Delivery & Payment
/ Simplified and consolidated steps
/ Pre-selected ticket types
/ Delivery methods listed as radio buttons for quick selection within the same page
/ Summary condensed not taking the whole screen
/ Integrating with Braintree, Arriva has seen a 70%* increase in in-app sales

/ PROJECT 3
APPLYING RAIL TECH TO NEW INDUSTRIES
This product was conceived from the existing rail booking tech used in many of my other train client projects. Thinking about how to apply rail tech to new industries to try and solve an industry-wide problem.
Introducing FansAway. Just like trains, football matches can be prone to changes and disruption! From match changes due to cup runs, postponements due to severe weather or issues with crowd safety. It can be frustrating for fans especially if you have purchased your travel tickets to a match. The matches are usually cancelled or rescheduled.
The Customer engine behind the UI would integrate with existing club season ticket API to validate cancelled or rescheduled matches so that we could automatically generate train ticket refunds or ticket date switching.
